Responsible general engineers who are leaders of transition
IMT Mines Albi trains the general engineers of the future to be ready to meet the challenges of the ecological transition and sustainable development. The programs fully integrate ecological issues and transitions into each Engineering Science course. Teaching units enrich the common core subjects, including philosophy of science, technology and the environment, history of science and controversy.
Adding to training in the ecological transition, “Transition Meetings” (RDVT) have been created and are spread over the three years of the curriculum. Students must have 30 points at the end of their course to pass the Humanities & Transitions program.
IMT Mines Albi is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals
In September 2015, the member states of the United Nations adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
These 17 goals provide a roadmap to a better, more sustainable future for all. They respond to the global challenges facing society (poverty, inequality, the climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace, etc.). They take into account the three aspects of sustainable development: environmental, social and economic. Higher education institutions are committed to achieving these goals by 2030. IMT Mines Albi is fully committed to this approach.

A disability-friendly school
IMT Mines Albi supports students with special needs or disabilities, facilitating their integration and success. The school makes special arrangements, such as extra time for assessments, breaks or other adjustments recommended by the preventive healthcare physician.
Several people play an active role, including a Disability Officer, to ensure personalized support. For example, a student exempted from sports activities can, depending on their aspirations and personal objectives, get involved in a project that promotes the development of initiative, team spirit, management and interpersonal skills. These skills contribute towards the “Sports” and “Personal Development and Social Awareness” teaching units.
Accessible accommodation is also available to meet specific needs, with 18 studios designed for people with reduced mobility.
In 2024, IMT Mines Albi signed the national charter Atypie-Friendly to promote the inclusion of people with neurodevelopmental disorders within its educational community. IMT Mines Albi has an inclusive policy for welcoming students.
