Welcome to the new class of engineering students!

In September 1992, 18 students began their studies at IMT Mines Albi. Today, the school has more than 1,000 students within its walls:

• 944 engineering students
• 26 Mastère Spécialisé® students
• 92 doctoral students
   

Training generalist engineers to be responsible drivers of change

A new academic year begins at IMT Mines Albi, the general engineering school of the Institut Mines-Télécom. The new class of engineering students is welcomed to the school campus by the teaching and administrative teams. Nearly 300 future engineers are joining the ranks of IMT Mines Albi.

The school passes the 1,000-student mark for the first time, thanks to an increase in the number of applicants admitted on the basis of their qualifications in the 1st year and in the number of international students (20% of the total), as well as an increase in the number of work-study students in the 1st year. A new specialization, “Data Engineering for Information and Energy Systems”, is introduced, focusing on renewable energy management. IMT Mines Albi is also expanding its access to the engineering curriculum through partnerships with Institut National Universitaire Champollion Albi, allowing students to enter IMT Mines Albi after a preparatory degree.

Work-study programs have been strengthened, with all engineering students in the student program able to complete their last three semesters on a work-study basis. The “Industrial Engineering for Organizational Performance” specialization will be available entirely on a sandwich course from 2025. After 3 years of training, students will graduate as general engineers, ready to work towards a more responsible world.
