The certified expertise of the IMT Mines Albi technological incubator
Scientific, technical, entrepreneurial and industrial support
The incubation service is aimed at innovative technological and scientific projects that will have an impact on the world of the future. Research professors from IMT Mines Albi’s education and research centers support incubated projects in overcoming technological barriers. The specific expertise of each researcher and the broad spectrum of the centers’ fields of expertise mean that each project benefits from high-quality, relevant technological and scientific support.
The goal is to turn your project into a viable business. The technological incubator provides you with the tools and skills you need to better identify your customers and develop your business plan. A “Startupper talent maker” helps and prepares you to promote your project to future investors and to face the business world.
We support you in studying your prototypes and proofs of concept. This technical support will give you autonomy in the manufacture of prototypes. Every entrepreneurial adventure is unique. For this reason, the technological incubator adapts its conditions according to the progress of the project and its technical needs.
Spaces to develop your creativity
You will have access to individual offices, a creative space, a co-working area and a meeting room. Depending on your needs in terms of support, the office can be set up in the research center, the technology platform or in the Innov’action building.
The La FaBrique Openlab is open to all participants wishing to prototype their projects. La FaBrique is a digital manufacturing facility where projects come and go, and prototypes are produced. Digital equipment offers a wide range of prototyping possibilities: 3D printer, waterjet cutter, milling machine, virtual reality headset, embroidery machine, vinyl cutter, glass fusing kiln, CAD software, 360° camera, etc.
Projects boosted by the IMT Mines Albi technological incubator
In 2024, the technological incubator is hosting and supporting around ten projects, including:
Ash'UP
Ash’UP aims to use biomass ash from community heating systems, which is currently treated as waste, to produce and distribute 100% natural consumer products locally. Ash’UP currently produces laundry detergent from these ashes.
Cactile
Cactile is a high-impact technology project. The idea consists in creating a roof that performs several functions: water storage for different uses, electricity generation and, of course, waterproofing of homes. It can be deployed in collaboration with local authorities (including financially), allowing them to manage flood risks by storing and releasing water.
Cyclorgaz
Cyclorgaz aims to provide farms with an alternative to fossil fuels in the form of small-scale methanization plants. These micro biogas plants will save space in densely populated areas, make them more acceptable to local residents, and reduce costs compared with conventional plants. The goal is also to recycle the gas after extraction of the methane that was previously considered a waste product. This gas can be used for a variety of purposes (promoting crop growth, anesthetizing animals, etc.).
Extrajool
Extrajool converts waste heat from industrial plants into clean electricity. Few solutions currently exist, and their accessibility, particularly in terms of cost, remains a challenge. And there are currently no solutions for low-power and intermediate-temperature applications. The project’s mission is to help industries reduce their energy costs through clean energy.
Hopteo
Hopteo is a platform designed to help future students choose the right course of study. Like the social network Tinder, students can “swipe” cards to specify their expectations and obtain a personalized ranking of suitable courses. Hopteo provides schools with tools to improve their communication and the recruitment of future graduates. Currently, the main target customers are engineering schools, business schools and job fairs. In the future, they will extend their activities to other types of school.
LoTTechnology
The aim of this project is to design a new generation of machine tools for the manufacturing industry. This new machine tool will improve the reliability and efficiency of the manufacturing process, reducing errors and facilitating quality control. To achieve this, LoTTechnology offers a reliable, autonomous tethered balloon system that gives a general overview of the site, so that any incidents can be detected as early as possible.
